AMABIE, (AMABIKO might be original) is "Yokai"Japanese folk monster. It is said that in Edo era in Japan, this creature appeared from the sea, and said "We'll have a lot of harvest for this 6 years, but at the same time, huge epidemic will spread. You should draw my picture and show it to people as soon as possible to prevent this disaster."  This predict was believed and passed down for a long period. 遅ればせながら、アマビエ様のことを知りました！

福井の文書館にも史料があるそうで、ちょっと歴史学（大学で日本史専攻）への血が騒ぎました(笑)　それにしても江戸時代に、なんとユーモラスなイラストなんだろう...✨

市内のお菓子屋さんでもアマビエ様を象った和菓子などが販売されているそうで、
